Alexa speaks with Saturday Night Live production designer Andrea Purcigliotti about the Scooby-Doo parody sketch. Airing on the season finale of season 49, the sketch featured host Jake Gyllenhaal as Fred, and musical guest Sabrina Carpenter as Daphne.
Highlights of this episode include:
1- The typical timeline and process of the SNL film unit (from the perspective of production design).
2- A look into fair use, copyright, and using distinct elements of an intellectual property in sketch comedy.
3- A behind the scenes look at how the Scooby-Doo SNL sketch came together!

Rikes! In the latest episode of the Unmasked History of Scooby-Doo, Alexa interviews Neil Fanning, the voice of Scooby-Doo in the live action films Scooby-Doo (2002) and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004).

1- A look into how Neil started his career in the entertainment industry at Warner Bros. Movie World Australia, and the full circle moment of becoming a fixture in the park as the voice of Scooby-Doo in the Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster ride.
2- The audition process and how Neil initially became the voice-actor reading Scooby-Doo’s (and other characters’) lines on the set of Scooby-Doo (2002), and how he came to voice Scooby in the final cut of the movie.

In the long awaited return of the Unmasked History of Scooby-Doo, Alexa had the opportunity to attend the 2024 Calgary Comics & Entertainment Expo, where she interviewed three people who have worked on the Scooby-Doo franchise: Tim Sheridan, John Delaney, and Grey Delisle!

1- How Tim Sheridan envisioned a return for Scrappy-Doo in Curse of the 13th Ghost (although it ultimately didn’t happen).
2- John Delaney explains his role and process working on a handful of Scooby-Doo comics for DC.
